HOW DOES ON-LINE REMOTE LEARNING OF YOUNG CHILDREN IMPACT YOUR CURRENT EMPLOYEES?
Below is a March 2021 study from McKinsey & Company, on the results achieved with remote learning in schools. Here's an example quote from the study ... "Teachers working in high-poverty schools found virtual classes to be especially ineffective, rating it 3.5 out of 10, bolstering concerns that the pandemic has exacerbated educational inequalities." Now keep in mind this appears to be an average response. What do you think the range of teacher responses were from high - low, by specific cities in the United States?
Another quote from the study ... "There is also emerging evidence that the stress and isolation of online learning is contributing to mental health issues among young people." Can you think of any related mental health unintended consequences that might be associated with remote learning virtual classes - especially, consequences related to teenagers? For instance, what might be happening with the frequency of child-abuse, teenage suicide, and drug use.
Did we catch the students up from the last time remote learning was deployed? If so, how do we know this is true? If not, then what? What makes us think we will achieve better results this time around if the schools are shutdown and remote learning is commenced? If schools do not shutdown, how will the administrators deal with the risk of excessive teacher absenteeism and the impact this might have on student learning?
