Sales & Operations Planning - Organizational Health and Performance

Updated: Feb 3, 2022

SALES AND OPERATIONS PLANNING (S&OP) or, as some may call it, SUPPLY CHAIN EXECUTION PLANNING, are key business processes (KBP) that improves ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE.

- Organizational Health - the ability of an organization to align, execute and renew itself

- Performance - what the organization delivers to stakeholders in financial and operational terms

*Organizational Health PROPELS Performance

SALES AND OPERATIONS PLANNING OUTPUTS - each the organization aligns on a rolling 1-year / by-month S&OP that links to their Annual Operating Plan and their Business-Level Strategy. Some of the outputs of this KBP are an alignment on the following:

- Demand plan

- Supply plan - both internal and external

- New products and/or service plan

- Long-term asset acquisition / implementation plan

- Human resources plan

- Financial plan

- After-Action Plan to assess the effectiveness and to identify how the organization will improve the following month's S&OP process

*Note: investors will value this KBP because it helps the business become more predictable from a financial perspective.

As you can imagine, this KBP would be valuable in all business environments - especially, in the current one - and in all industries. If you want more information on Sales and Operations Planning, contact us at INCLINE INSIGHTS, LLC (https://lnkd.in/eWPJXmt).
